-
Inclusive mobility
Smart, sustainable mobility must serve everyone. We create mobility networks that serve the able and disabled, are accessible regardless of income and bridge the gap between urban and rural communities.
-
Net Zero
Reducing emissions takes many forms, from initiatives to promote public transport use, to introducing local zero-emissions zones. We work with cities to identify the optimum solutions and implement them strategically.
-
Road safety
From producing a ‘Safe Roads for All’ report with leading road safety experts in the UK, to reviewing ADAS performance in the Netherlands, we are shaping the road safety conversation.
-
Active travel
Liveable cities with safer streets for cycling and walking. That is what we aim for. With our solutions we create active travel. From strategy to implementation with the newest technologies.
Future proof road infrastructure: an exploration of the impact of automated traffic and transportation
From driving assistance systems to autonomous driving. The transition to automated traffic is in full swing. This changes the traditional relationship between people, vehicles and roads. But what does that mean for road design and maintenance?

Optimising road networks to improve ADAS performance
Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) are increasingly common – whether automatic lane keeping systems or self-driving vehicles. Our company was commissioned by the Dutch National Traffic Management Board to research the need for action in the sector. From guidelines and driver education to collaboration between key stakeholders – we’re optimising ADAS performance to enhance road safety.

VOLT:
paving the way for electric vehicles in cities
Electric vehicles are predicted to account for every new car purchase by 2040 – but are our cities ready to accommodate them? Ensuring access to electric charging points is an ever-growing challenge facing city authorities. In VOLT, we have developed a platform that helps transport planners determine the optimal layout for charging infrastructure, ensuring smoother and safer traffic flows.

Cycling:
promoting sustainable urban mobility
Urban cycling has become an important component of sustainable transport strategies. At Haskoning, we have consulted on the integration of bicycle traffic for decades.
From bicycle network masterplans to the design and engineering of parking facilities and dedicated bicycle bridges, tunnels and viaducts: we enable cycling to flourish.
