With a relationship spanning more than 15 years, Haskoning was contracted to establish an on-site team covering all engineering disciplines and drawing on specialist expertise from across the organisation when needed. Projects have included licensing activities, redesigning electrical infrastructure and investigating a new sterile air handling system for cleanrooms.
An experienced on-site team means potential issues can be identified and solved before they cause production or regulatory delays. For example, when condensation became a problem in the production cleanroom, the team quickly identified the cause, designed improvements, assessed costs and delivered the best-value solution.
“Our strength lies in an integrated whole-site approach,” explained Rob Stevens, Senior Project Manager at Haskoning. “We look across the boundaries of different installations and structures to ensure that interfaces and connections between buildings, new installations and the plant function smoothly. This adds real value for the client.”
This integrated approach was also evident when the client introduced a process to sterilise waste and store it in an underground concrete pit. Haskoning assisted with the construction of the pit and coordinated licensing, supplies and connections to the sterilisation unit.
