New Málaga office brings expansion of mission critical facilities design and engineering team as well as the launch of our European BIM Competence Centre.
Building on our 25-year track record in delivering data centre design and engineering for clients across the globe, the unveiling of a new office located in the historic heart of Málaga, Spain, signifies a commitment to expand our presence into southern Europe. This strategic move comes in response to multiple inquiries from clients in the Iberian Peninsula, highlighting the growing demand for our expertise in this region.
The announcement bolsters Royal HaskoningDHV’s mission critical facilities team which is already 250 strong across northern Europe, Africa and Asia-Pacific.

Jorge Moura, Resident Director Spain, has played a crucial role in leading Royal HaskoningDHV’s mission critical facilities business in Germany and Poland. On bringing this experience to Spain, he commented: “Data centres are the cornerstone of the digital infrastructure network – they are relied upon to deliver without fail. Our data centre team delivers state-of-the-art designs where energy efficiency and sustainability are fundamental – and we’re excited to expand our capabilities further here in Spain.”
At the same time, the Málaga office will be home to a new European BIM Competence Centre, serving design teams across Royal HaskoningDHV’s offices. This Competence Centre will further enhance our capabilities in Building Information Modelling (BIM), a data-driven approach using information-rich 3D models that has become the standard in developing data centres globally.
The launch into Spain was celebrated with an opening event at the office on 8 November 2024, where we celebrated the strong relationships built over the years with valued clients.

When we were exploring Spain as a potential new market, we wanted to find an office location where it was not only interesting to work, but also to live. We are committed to putting people first and wanted to strike a good work/life balance as we build our new team in Málaga. We’ve already recruited 20 new team members with a view to expanding further by the end of this year, and we’re excited by the future possibilities this will bring to our global team.
