BIM for Rail Bootcamp 2026

Building of the Faculty of Civil and Mechanical Engineering RTU

Hosted by Riga Technical University and co-hosted by Rail Baltica in cooperation with event partner Vossloh. Location: Faculty of Civil and Mechanical Engineering: Kipsalas iela 6A | LV–1048 | Riga, Latvia.
About the event
In 2019, Haskoning, a leading Dutch engineering, consultancy, and technology firm, took the initiative to organise a groundbreaking event for the railway supply chain. The focus? Building Information Modeling (BIM)—a transformative approach that the railway industry had yet to fully embrace.
Why join us for this event?
The 2026 edition of this event will be organised in Riga, hosted by Riga Technical University and co-hosted by Rail Baltica. The project Rail Baltica is transforming Europe’s connectivity with a high-speed rail network built on digital innovation. Using tools like BIM, AIM, and GIS, it improves coordination and sets new standards for efficiency and sustainability from design to operation. There’s a lot to be learned in the Baltics!
Why BIM matters
The railway sector, while essential, was somewhat slower in adopting BIM compared to other industries. BIM offers immense benefits, from streamlined processes to enhanced collaboration across partners in the supply chain. Recognising this gap, we launched the Annual BIM for Rail Bootcamp and further developed it, together with our partners ProRail, SBB, Banedanmark and Birmingham Center for Rail research and Education, as a platform for continuous knowledge exchange, inspiration, and acceleration.BIM for Rail Bootcamp 2025
