What you will do as Strategic Advisory Consultant Aviation

You will become part of the Strategic Advisory team, a group of aviation consultants and industry experts working on projects for airports and aviation clients worldwide. In this role, you will support project delivery, work closely with international clients to understand their needs, contribute to client relationships and business development, and help create practical and innovative advisory solutions that enable clients to transform, improve, and grow their business and operations. Typical projects may include strategic management reports, market analyses and business plans, airport development strategies, operational improvement plans, transaction due diligence, value optimization and implementation roadmaps.  

Key responsibilities: 

  • Analyse market, operational, and financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. 
  • Prepare clear, data-driven presentations, reports, and recommendations for clients and project teams. 
  • Developing business cases, strategic recommendations, and actionable implementation plans.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from different disciplines to deliver high-quality results within challenging deadlines.
  • Contribute to building strong client relationships and supporting the development of new business opportunities.

You will be part of Strategic Advisory Practice in Delft, part of NACO, where we work with colleagues on airport projects in the Netherlands and for international clients. Working alongside our many experts, we deliver on projects for some of the busiest airports in the world.

What you bring

You enjoy working with data and have strong analytical skills, including data analysis, financial modelling, and scenario planning. You combine a sharp eye for detail with a collaborative approach and enjoy turning complex information into practical insights. In addition, you bring: 

  • 4-6 years of experience in strategy or management consulting, supported by a degree with a strong quantitative focus, such as economics, engineering, mathematics, business administration, or a related field. An MBA or other business-related postgraduate qualification is a plus.
  • Strong client relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and create clear, compelling presentations, reports, and dashboards.
  • Experience developing well-structured and visually engaging PowerPoint presentations for client projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to work effectively with international clients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • A proactive and curious mindset, with a willingness to take ownership, continuously learn, and contribute to successful project outcomes.
  • The ability to thrive in a collaborative and dynamic environment, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality.

The application process consists of three steps.  

First, you will be invited to a 90-minute in-person interview, which includes an introductory conversation to explore whether there is a good mutual fit, followed by a 30-minute aptitude and analytical assessment. 

The second step is a 60-minute in-person case interview, where you will discuss and analyse a business challenge relevant to the role. 

The final step is a 90-minute in-person interview with a senior leader, during which you will also work on another case study focussed on your management style and communication skills.

You’ll usually speak with different colleagues than in the first interview, giving you a broad impression of your potential new work environment. Depending on the role, we may ask you to complete an assessment. Sometimes, a third interview is also part of the process.
