A little background on our Maritime team:
Haskoning are at the forefront of innovative maritime planning, design and development, and our teams of multi-disciplinary experts have assisted our international clientele to create successful ports and maritime infrastructure worldwide. We have provided expert commercial, technical and operational advice and created master plans across the five continents for a wide range of port projects.
We are one of the largest and most experienced teams of port planning professionals and designers globally and we are world leaders in the production of port feasibility studies, master plans and designs. Examples of recent projects include the port master plan, design and engineering services for the new Port of Baku in Azerbaijan, the detailed design of the Twelve Quays Ro-Ro berth on the river Mersey, and the development of pioneering air quality improvements for major UK Ports.
Degree Apprenticeship:
Are you passionate about engineering and keen to shape the future of maritime engineering? We are seeking for a motivated individual to join our Newcastle office as a Level 6 Degree Apprentice Civil Engineer. This opportunity will provide the successful candidate with academic qualifications and practical hands-on experience to launch your successful career within the Civil Engineering sector.
You will develop your hands on experience working with our Maritime team in our Newcastle office, where you will work alongside software like CAD, while gaining a deep understanding of Civil Engineering principles. You will work alongside our experienced Civil Engineers working on a variety of projects with the aim of Enhancing Society Together!
As a Degree Apprentice, you will combine the practical experience with academic studies at Northumbria University, by studying a BEng Civil Engineering degree, equipping you with the skills and knowledge to start your career in the industry. What we are looking for:
- 112 UCAS tariff points (from Level 3 qualifications, A-Levels, BTEC Diplomas)
- Grade B in A-level Mathematics and another analytical science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Computer Sciences, Physics or Technology), or recognised equivalents.
- We may also consider applicants who have successfully completed a related Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship, or those with non-standard qualification, or a significant amount of relevant work-based or professional experience.
- A strong interest in Civil Engineering and Maritime projects.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Availability to start the Degree Apprenticeship in September 2026.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
