Haskoning strengthens Swiss data centre position with full acquisition of Next
Haskoning has acquired the remaining 51% share of Next, a Zurich-based engineering consultancy specialising in integral data centre design. The move strengthens Haskoning’s position in the Swiss data centre market, and supports the company’s ambition to broaden its presence in Switzerland.
Next was founded five years ago as a Swiss joint venture between Haskoning (49%) and Confirm Group AG (51%). Following the transaction, the company will be fully integrated into Haskoning and renamed to reflect the new ownership structure.
Haskoning CEO Marije Hulshof said: “Taking full ownership of Next allows us to accelerate collaboration between our Swiss and global teams. It strengthens our ability to deliver smart, sustainable data centre projects while enabling further growth in Switzerland, including in markets such as manufacturing and airports.”

Easier access to multidisciplinary knowledge and international experience
Becoming a fully integrated part of Haskoning allows us to combine our strong local expertise with a much broader global network. For our clients, this means easier access to multidisciplinary knowledge and international experience, while keeping the local presence they rely on.
I’m excited to build on what we’ve achieved so far and to continue growing our business in Switzerland together with our clients and partners.

Haskoning and Confirm will continue to work together on projects when appropriate as they have done successfully since the start of Next. The financial terms of the transaction have not been made public by either party.
