Best place to work - NCE Awards

The New Civil Engineer Awards celebrate the next generation of leaders and the diversity of firms that collaborate to deliver impact in key civil engineering sectors. Best Place to Work was awarded to Haskoning in recognition of our commitment to creating a supportive and flexible work environment.

We beat out fierce competition and the judges commented: “Brilliant presentation — comprehensive, proactive and polished. The breadth of the employee-owned model in creating a best place to work was very evident. This organisation in particular has hit the mark on the right investments to create a genuine impact for employees. Leadership representation as part of the in-person presentation team was noted and appreciated. A very good and comprehensive range of initiatives was presented, with clear explanation of how these are implemented and refined to meet the needs of a diverse workforce. Well-presented metrics and examples supported the statements made in the presentation and discussion.”

Our employees benefit from professional growth opportunities, averaging seven days of training per year per employee, reinforcing our commitment to growth and retention. Initiatives like our neurodiverse cover extension, fertility leave, and support for carers earned recognition from the judges and reflect our belief that putting people first is at the heart of our company’s success, and our purpose to Enhance Society Together.

Jon Robinson, Managing Director of Haskoning in the UK, attended the awards ceremony in London together with a team of colleagues last week, saying: “To be recognised with a win in this category is so special. For us it’s the most important category of the night. Haskoning is a company made up of incredibly passionate, talented and committed professionals and our success as a company is dependent on them feeling empowered, nurtured and supported, both personally and professionally.

“Over the last two years in the UK, we’ve really worked to foster a great working environment – listening closely to the needs of our employees and responding with policies and initiatives that reflect our commitment.”
