Haskoning appoints Bas van Dijk as Director Business Unit Water & Maritime APAC

Bas van Dijk brings more than two decades of global Haskoning experience to the Asia-Pacific region, strengthening the company’s commitment to delivering world-class engineering solutions. 
An engineering leader with over 20 years of global experience at Haskoning, Bas van Dijk brings a proven track record in innovation, technical excellence and strategic growth. With a civil engineering background specialising in maritime projects, Bas has contributed to some of the world’s most high-profile maritime and waterfront developments. These experiences have sharpened his strategic perspective and enhanced his ability to lead complex, multidisciplinary teams in dynamic markets.

His portfolio includes contributions to major global projects such as the Palm Islands in Dubai, Vietnam’s leading container terminal Gemalink, and the revitalisation of Circular Quay in Sydney. Most recently, Bas played a pivotal role in overseeing the design phase of the Bina Harbour project, a landmark initiative in the Solomon Islands poised to significantly boost the economic development of Malaita Province. He has successfully led the Water & Maritime Australia team for the past two and a half years while based in Sydney.

Bas will relocate to Manila, The Philippines, where he will commence his appointment on 1 January 2026. He succeeds Sarah Budd, who will take up the role of Water & Maritime Empowering Excellence Strategy Director from January 2026.
