"My experience across APAC and internationally has shown me what’s possible when we combine technical excellence with a clear vision, and I’m committed to accelerating our growth and innovation," said Bas.
His portfolio includes contributions to major global projects such as the Palm Islands in Dubai, Vietnam’s leading container terminal Gemalink, and the revitalisation of Circular Quay in Sydney. Most recently, Bas played a pivotal role in overseeing the design phase of the Bina Harbour project, a landmark initiative in the Solomon Islands poised to significantly boost the economic development of Malaita Province. He has successfully led the Water & Maritime Australia team for the past two and a half years while based in Sydney.
“We’re thrilled to appoint Bas to this role, giving him a unique platform to lead one of our most diverse and high-potential regions,” said Jon Robinson, Global Director, Water & Maritime at Haskoning. “His extensive experience has sharpened his strategic vision and deepened his understanding of our people, clients and markets. Bas is exceptionally well positioned to guide our multidisciplinary teams across APAC and help advance our Empowering Excellence 2030 strategy.”
Bas will relocate to Manila, The Philippines, where he will commence his appointment on 1 January 2026. He succeeds Sarah Budd, who will take up the role of Water & Maritime Empowering Excellence Strategy Director from January 2026.
