Celebrating 40 years in Vietnam

24-11-2025
Last week we celebrated 40 years of cooperation, innovation, and sustainable growth in Vietnam, marking a milestone of collaboration that has significantly contributed to the nation’s urban development.
Since establishing our presence in 1985, we’ve evolved alongside Vietnam, contributing to transformative projects that support the country’s rapid industrialisation and green ambitions. This milestone reflects our long-term cooperation and continued commitment to Vietnam’s sustainable future.

An integral partner

Haskoning’s 40-year legacy in Vietnam is a testament to enduring commitment and excellence. With approximately 200 employees, an annual revenue of VND 450 billion, and as one of the top engineering consulting firms in Vietnam, we’ve become an integral partner in the country’s development journey. Projects include the Mekong Delta Integrated Regional Plan, Viettel Data Center, Tra Vinh Wind Farm, Gemalink Container Terminal, Heineken Vung Tau Brewery, HCMC Masterplan, Phu My Wastewater Treatment Plant and the LEGO Factory in Binh Duong.

Spanning both the public and private sectors, these projects range from national planning and critical infrastructure that support Vietnam’s long-term development, to Foreign Driven Investments (FDI) by international brands that we serve globally and locally. Many of these projects directly improve public health, safeguard clean water resources, bolster climate resilience, and create more stable livelihoods for surrounding communities.

“Vietnam plays an important role in Haskoning’s strategy and sustainability ambitions,” said Marije Hulshof, CEO Haskoning. “We remain committed to delivering resilient, innovative solutions that address both current and long-term development challenges and will continue strengthening collaborations with our clients and partners in Vietnam.”

Green growth strategy

Vietnam’s dynamic landscape presents both opportunities and challenges that Haskoning is uniquely positioned to navigate. The country’s rapid urbanisation and economic growth - projected at 6.5% in 2025 and between 8-10% in 2026 - are accompanied by pressing issues like climate vulnerability and infrastructure demands. Recent administrative reforms and decentralisation efforts are creating new opportunities for development of industrial facilities, infrastructure and logistics, with more simplified and optimised support from local authorities. Leveraging its international expertise and strong on-ground experience, Haskoning is well positioned to support Vietnam as it accelerates its green growth strategy.

Looking ahead, Haskoning is committed to combining integrated engineering, digital expertise, and sustainability-driven design to support Vietnam’s evolving needs. The company’s focus remains on water resilience, sustainable mobility, ports, data centres, and industry and infrastructure, ensuring solutions that are not only efficient but also environmentally and socially responsible.

Placing our clients at the heart of everything we do

This milestone is significant, yet our commitment to innovation and efficiency has been unwavering from the very beginning. We remain focused on sustainability and best engineering practices, placing our clients at the heart of everything we do, while investing in local partnerships, nurturing talent, and delivering future-ready solutions.
