Blueprint ChemSkills

Navigating multiple challenges
The chemical industry faces a dual transition: the rapid advancement of green and digital technologies alongside a steadfast commitment to circularity and the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (CSS). In response to these multifaceted challenges, there is the initiative known as “ChemSkills: Enabling the green and digital skills transformation of the chemical industry.”
Empowering industry evolution
The ChemSkills initiative, co-founded by the EU, aims to respond to the current green and digital skills needs of the chemical industry. It focuses on developing competencies to produce “safe and sustainable chemicals by design”. This initiative is essential for navigating the ongoing transitions in the chemical industry, ensuring sustainability, and enhancing the quality of curricula and training programs.
Innovation and collaboration
The “Blueprint ChemSkills” project shines as a beacon of innovation within our organisation. It aligns seamlessly with the European Commission Erasmus+Project and embraces overarching themes such as Light Industry, Renewable Energy Decarbonisation of Industry, NL Energy Transition, and NL Transition Approach. Over the next 48 months, this ambitious venture will unfold, with its roots in the EU and coordination hub in Brussels.A global consortium
To realise this vision, the project will bring together a diverse consortium of stakeholders. Social partners, business representatives, research institutes, educational institutions, universities, and public authorities will collaborate across borders. We’re proud to be one of 35 partners spanning 15 countries, collectively addressing skills gaps across various industrial sub-sectors.Multifaceted contribution
The “Blueprint ChemSkills” program extends beyond innovation. It empowers us to help accelerate the green and digital transition of the chemical sector whilst remaining agile in the face of evolving industry needs. Moreover, it expands our capacity-building initiatives across Europe and strengthens our health, safety, and sustainability network.ChemSkills launches future skills survey
The ChemSkills project is calling on individuals to shape the future of the chemical industry. We invite participation in this future skills survey, which aims to gather crucial insights into digitisation and green skills across key sectors: plastics, consumer chemicals, fertilizers, rubber, pharmaceuticals, and petrochemicals. The survey’s objective is to assess current trends and drivers of change, identifying the skills and competencies crucial for industry evolution. By uncovering gaps between skill needs and existing training, the project aims to pave the way for tailored courses that support upskilling, reskilling, and the development of new curricula.
Your input is more than just answers; it’s a catalyst for transformative change! Survey results will be combined with other sources to create dynamic skill cards available to training providers across Europe. Additionally, your valuable insights will contribute to various reports shaping the industry’s future.
Please share your insights and unlock a future of industry excellence. Rest assured, your data will be treated with the utmost confidentiality, anonymised, and used in a way that cannot be linked to a specific respondent unless explicitly agreed upon.
