What you do as a Senior Fire Engineer (MCF/ Data Centres)

As Senior Fire Engineer you must prove yourself to some of the most demanding customers in the world and work pro-actively with our colleagues across the globe. Beyond the standard features of a building, our MCF projects require specific and advanced knowledge and skills. What our clients have in common, is the need for a proactive Fire Engineer. With your technical and 3D/BIM modelling skills, you know how to efficiently engineer and model design. Your main responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Engineering the design in project teams. Specific installations such as sprinkler, fire alarm, smoke heat extraction (SHE) or gas extinguishing installation;
• Develop diagrams of the installation and coordinate with other disciplines for the initial space reservations;
• Modelling the installation in 3D Revit/BIM based on diagrams and coordinated space reservations under your supervision.
• Implement your knowledge based on functionality, mountability, accessibility and maintainability into the model to ensure that the contractor can build it according to our model without revising it.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team where your work will be cross borders, native and home based. In addition to participating in projects, you naturally also contribute to the optimisation of our internal business processes and to safeguarding and sharing knowledge within your field. As our new Fire Engineer (MCF/ Data Centres) you will become part of the team Mission Critical Facilities. Our global Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) team provides a multidisciplinary package of consultancy services for our datacenter clients. We provide strategic, tactical, and operational advice to our clients, including colocation datacentres, internet service providers, and telecom companies. Our team consists of colleagues with all kinds of different expertise. For example, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, construction, civil, structure, building, architecture, fire safety, control engineering, and security technology. What you bring

You are an entrepreneurial, results-driven professional with a proactive mindset. You combine a positive and flexible attitude with strong communication and problem-solving skills, enabling you to deliver high-quality designs and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Besides, you possess the following: 

• Technical bachelor’s or master’s degree – to apply a solid engineering foundation in complex data centre projects;

• At least 2 years of relevant experience – ideally within the data centre sector, to understand its specific technical and operational requirements;

• Experience with Revit and integrated design – essential for creating coordinated, high-quality digital models and efficient workflows;

• Strong communication skills – to ensure smooth collaboration with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders in international settings;

• Good command of English, German, and/or Dutch – needed to work effectively across multicultural teams and client interfaces.
