Job Description

  • You will be responsible for Project Management in design & engineering field of work and being the end responsible for the project during the construction phase.
  • As a project manager you are expected to deliver total success to allocated projects in green- and brown-field manufacturing environments.
  • You will be leading and managing multidisciplinary RHDHV teams and act as the single point of contact to the client.
  • Construction Management of industrial buildings (FMCG/F&B) and datacenters (MCF).

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead large scale design and engineering projects in a multi stakeholder environment throughout a complete project life cycle, supporting our multinational clients to make the best value decisions.
  • Develop, lead and manage the RHDHV (design/site) team during project development and delivery.
  • Initiate projects together with clients, coordinate stakeholder input, analyse and appraise production solutions, prepare project briefs and business cases and gain the necessary approvals within the client’s organization.
  • Be in charge of all project controls: e.g. planning, cost control, risk control, quality control, project administration and contract management.
  • Extensive knowledge of Design Coordination.
  • Writing technical and financial proposals.
  • Ensure high quality of service and deliverables and compliance with the Group governance and procedures
  • Produce reports for both internal reporting anf client presentation purposes
  • May make presentations to clients as part of the service delivery
  • Manage teams to deliver against financial targets.

 

  • In charge of the construction management team during the execution phase.
  • Chair regular coordination of technical meetings with the design & engineering team and also the contractors and other parties involved.
  • Prepare construction schedules, and closely monitor the progress achieved. Interface management (Civil/MEP/Equipment) is considered as an important responsibility of the Construction Manager.
  • Inspection and review of all (shop) drawings.
  • Review, monitor and advise the client on variation orders by contractors and do the appropriate technical and financial negotiations on behalf of the client.
  • Preparation of Contract Documents, Specifications, Bills of Quantities and supervision activities
  • Liaise with all levels of clients, local authorities, contractors and specialist consultants on administrative and technical subjects
  • Business development- potential & new clients
  • Project Management/design management- EPCM manual, coaching younger and new colleagues.

 

 

Minimum qualifications, skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree, HND or Master’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture or Electrical Engineering
  • 10-15 years of experience in the management of multidisciplinary engineering and construction projects, preferably in the MCF, FMCG and F&B market.
  • Qualified member Nigeria Institute of Quantity Surveyors (MNIQS), registered Quantity Surveyor with Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN) and Project Management Professional (PMP)Training
  • Proven track record in managing medium & large-scale projects.
  • Previous employment by a manufacturing company is an advantage.
  • International mindset and willingness to travel for short/medium/long term assignments.
  • Experience of working on claims is a significant advantage
  • Experience of managing various pre and post contract projects
  • Excellent pre and post contract experience including preparation and review of estimates, cost plans, bills of quantities, tender reporting, variations change management and Final Accounts
