What will you do

Role Purpose

The Lead Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, engineering, and delivery of mechanical systems for maritime, port, harbor, terminal, shipyard and shipbuilding projects. The role includes technical leadership, project coordination, client engagement, mentoring engineers, and ensuring compliance with international maritime standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering design and project delivery for maritime and shipbuilding projects.

• Develop Concept, FEED, Detailed Design and Construction Engineering packages.

• Review and approve engineering calculations, specifications, layouts and drawings.

• Design and review pumping stations, firefighting systems, compressed air systems, HVAC systems, utility piping, water supply and drainage systems, fuel and oil handling systems, bulk material handling systems and shipyard infrastructure.

• Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, marine and instrumentation teams.

• Interface with clients, contractors, vendors, shipyards and port authorities. • Lead design reviews, HAZOP workshops and technical discussions. • Mentor junior engineers and ensure quality of project deliverables.

What you bring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (Mandatory).

• Master's degree in mechanical / marine engineering preferred.

Experience

• 15–20+ years of mechanical engineering experience.

• Minimum 8–10 years in maritime, ports, shipbuilding, offshore or marine infrastructure projects.

• Experience in multidisciplinary project leadership.

• Marine Mechanical Systems Design

• Piping Engineering

• HVAC Design

• Fire Protection Systems

• Hydraulic Calculations

• Equipment Specification & Selection

• Bulk Material Handling

Systems Software

AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Fluid Flow, Pipe Net, Smart Plant and MS Project/Primavera.

Standards

IMO, ASME, API, NFPA, ISO, BIS and Classification Society Standards.
