Haskoning is a global leader in the design and engineering of Mission Critical Facilities, with a strong focus on the data centre sector. Our specialised MCF Data Centre team works closely with leading data centre companies across Europe, Africa, Asia and the United Kingdom to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions. Due to the continued expansion of our activities in Belgium, we are looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer. You will join the existing Plant Engineering team based in our Destelbergen office and work together with colleagues in Belgium and across our international MCF organisation on challenging data centre projects for both national and international clients. Within this team, we are actively building an MCF hub in Belgium, where you will contribute to design and engineering projects delivered in collaboration with our international teams. In this role, you will also play a key connecting role between design and execution and be involved in the technical alignment and guidance of projects towards successful delivery for our clients.
What will you do
In the role of Lead Electrical Engineer, you are responsible for designing and technically leading complex electrical installations within Mission Critical Facilities and data centre projects. You work on advanced power infrastructures, ranging from low-voltage distribution systems to high-voltage installations, including redundancy concepts and UPS solutions.
You will work on complex projects for national and international clients and play a key role within the multidisciplinary project team, collaborating closely with international colleagues across our MCF organisation and contributing to projects delivered from multiple locations.
Your responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing the electrical design from concept phase through to detailed design, ensuring technical quality, buildability and compliance with standards, guidelines and client requirements;
- Coordinating and aligning electrical engineering with other disciplines such as mechanical, civil and structural engineering;
- Coordinating electrical engineering activities between the Belgian team and international project teams, contributing to the further development of the MCF hub;
- Reviewing and assessing designs and calculations of fellow engineers and acting as the technical point of contact for electrical topics towards project teams, clients and external parties;
- Preparing technical specifications and supporting tender documentation and technical analyses;
- Supporting the execution phase and aligning with stakeholders, playing a key role in translating design into realisation;
- Identifying optimisation opportunities, innovative solutions and supporting the application of digitalisation within the design process.
Where you will work

You will have a high degree of freedom to apply your expertise in challenging projects, while also playing a connecting role between the Belgian team, international colleagues and our clients. Within dedicated multidisciplinary teams, we deliver excellent results, processes and collaborations.
What you bring
