     Haskoning is looking for a Senior Civil and Drainage Engineer to join our growing team in Makati, to technically lead the hydrologic/hydraulic modelling and design of projects related to (flood) resiliency to mitigate pluvial, fluvial, and coastal flooding.

What you do as a Senior Civil and Drainage Engineer

     As a Senior Civil and Drainage Engineer, you will focus on hydrologic and hydraulic modelling of river basins and drainage networks to identify and provide solutions to the flood risk issues of our clients. Your solutions will be backed by sound technical and financial analysis and using your knowledge of current and future developments in the market. You will be involved through all stages of projects, from proposal to implementation, liaising with clients and relevant stakeholders. Your outputs will include models, feasibility studies, and design of non-structural and structural measures, and nature-based solutions.

  • technically lead and develop the hydrologic modelling, hydraulic modelling and drainage design of pluvial, fluvial, and coastal resilience projects at the concept, master planning, pre-feasibility, feasibility, and design phases.
  • build, provide analysis, troubleshooting, and interpretation of hydrologic/hydraulic modelling for river basins and drainage networks using various software
  • provide quality control and deliver projects successfully by completing tasks and deliverables on time and within budget and to the satisfaction of clients
  • interact with other disciplines with an understanding on the technical flow of work, and how your inputs will affect the overall project schedule and deliverables
  • work effectively in a team setting, including mentoring junior staff and providing them technical advice and guidance
  • prepare technical proposals and project report deliverables
  • work effectively with internal and external clients and represent Haskoning in the most professional manner
  • work effectively with the processes, tools, and resources of Haskoning, both locally in the Philippines and globally, including being proactive in sharing knowledge, continuously improving processes, creating innovations, and relentlessly striving for technical excellence
  • keep up-to-date with the latest best practices, scientific advances, and technological innovations in the industry to cost-effectively deliver (flood) resilience services

What you bring

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum requirement:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
    • at least 10 years of experience in flood risk management and mitigation, with focus on hydrologic and hydraulic modelling
    • expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software (e.g. HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, TUFLOW, ICM)
  • Desirable:
    • post graduate qualifications / specialization in civil / water resources engineering water resources, and coastal processes
    • demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following: hydrology and hydraulics, flood modelling, mapping and forecasting, coastal science and engineering, design of flood control structures, green infrastructure and nature-based solutions, and climate change analysis.
