What you do as a Medior Maritime Structural Engineer

     As a medior maritime structural engineer, you will undertake engineering projects related to the design, renovation or replacement of hydraulic and maritime structures in ports and waterways. This includes port infrastructure such as quay walls, jetties, mooring facilities, and also river works, embankments, weirs, and locks in waterways. You will carry out engineering assignments under supervision to meet project requirements on time and within budget. You will be working in multidisciplinary teams alongside experts in hydraulic, geotechnical, nautical, and mechanical engineering.

Our Philippine office consists of colleagues based in our main office Makati and across project sites. We provide them with a range of services throughout the various phases of a project: from inception, through master planning, feasibility, design all the way to construction management. What you bring

Responsibilities:

  • site inspections, visual, and structural analysis using structural analysis software
  • feasibility assessment of various solutions and concept design of structures
  • structural design including steel and concrete structures
  • preparing specifications and design criteria for structural engineering works
  • developing designs into 3D models and drawings together with CAD/BIM drafters
  • communicating with senior experts within the company
  • contribute to the preparation of high-quality reports, presentations, and workshops
  • stay updated with the latest industry trends, codes, and technologies, and to apply them to optimize project outcomes

Requirements:

  • master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or other relevant field
  • licensed Philippine civil engineer
  • at least +3 years’ experience in structural design and engineering in a consultancy firm
  • familiar with computer analysis and design software i.e. SAP2000, STAAD Pro (previous experience is preferred)
  • exposure to structural analysis and design of hydraulic and maritime (port) structures (previous experience is preferred)
  • familiar with structural design according to international design standards (BS, Eurocodes, American, Australian Standards, etc.) (previous experience is preferred)
  • familiar with BIM/Revit working environment (involved in a number of projects)
  • script writing experience (VBA, Macro, Dynamo, Python) will be beneficial
  • comfortable performing under time pressure while maintaining the required technical quality by following the company Quality Management Systems
  • capable of undertaking assignments effectively to achieve technically sound, timely, and cost-effective results
  • willing to travel as per project requirements
  • other relevant experience in the port and maritime infrastructure sector (e.g. design, construction, and operations)
