What will you do

• Responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of HVAC systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring projects meet technical and regulatory standards. They perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system design, while also guiding project teams and mentoring junior engineers.
• Take a Leading Role in the Engineering design team for executing of mono- (or multi) disciplinary Engineering activities.
• Responsible for the preparation and completion of design and engineering deliverables (drawings, models, schedules and technical specifications).

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

• Design and Development: Lead the design and development of HVAC systems for diverse building types, including load calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts.
• Project Management: Manage HVAC projects from initial concept through completion, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Technical Leadership: Serve as a technical leader, guiding project teams and mentoring junior engineers.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with architects, contractors, other engineering disciplines, and clients.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Analysis and Optimization: Perform HVAC system analysis and optimization to improve efficiency and reduce energy consumption.

Specific Tasks:

• Calculations: Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using industry-standard programs.
• Equipment Selection: Select and specify HVAC equipment and systems based on project requirements.
• System Design: Develop detailed HVAC system designs, including drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Site Visits: Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance and address issues.
• Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing HVAC systems.
• Documentation: Prepare technical specifications, reports, and other project documentation.
• Mentoring: Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical support and training.
• Cost Estimation: Prepare cost estimates and project budgets.
• Communicate: Communicate effectively with clients and other stakeholders

What you bring

• Education: A recognized tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: Significant experience in designing and managing mechanical building services projects.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, building services systems, and relevant software (e.g., BIM, CAD).
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
• Leadership: Ability to lead and manage project teams effectively.
• Mentoring: Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
