​Climate Change and Resilience Intern

Our climate is changing, from increasing temperatures and shifting precipitation patterns, to rising sea levels and more frequent and severe weather events. Alongside this, the global economy is embarking on a low-carbon transition. At Haskoning, we help governments, businesses, and communities plan for, and adapt to these changes. We also support clients to navigate the uncertainties of a low-carbon transition, identifying climate-related risks, and developing strategies to build resilience to emerging shocks and stresses. 

The successful candidate will support the growing team within Southeast Asia with a focus on developing resilience and climate adaptation strategies and undertaking climate change risk assessments for businesses, governments, and communities. 

This is a six-month internship opportunity that is open to both full-time and part-time candidates. 

What will you do

Your key responsibilities, with support from your team, may include the following: 

• Research and analyse climate change and other environmental data  
• Provide background research and report writing support  
• Prepare and support workshop and stakeholder engagement activities under supervision 
• Assisting in the preparation of reports, proposals and other under supervision documentation 
• Support staff members in preparing climate and disaster resilience action plans and undertake climate and disaster risk assessments

What you bring

• Degree or currently studying in one of the fields in international studies, sustainability, environment studies, climate change, urban planning, geography, earth science, climate finance, or other related development fields
• Good understanding of climate change, sustainability, decarbonization their challenges and opportunities
• Good problem-solving skills
• Good writing ability
• Good teamwork and interpersonal skill
• Confident to communicate in English (verbal and written)
• Strong motivation to learn and grow.
