What you will do as a Multi-Disciplinary E,M,I & C design Engineer

As a Multi-disciplinary design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the detailed design of multi-disciplinary infrastructure works. Your responsibilities will include developing coordinated design deliverables across electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems for industrial projects. The role focuses on producing accurate, constructible, and fully coordinated designs, drawings and layouts in close collaboration with lead design engineers and other disciplines.

Project Context: Haskoning is engaged in multiple projects at the Arab Potash Corporation (APC), which involves critical infrastructure works in the Dead Sea Area. The design Engineer will be supporting the design team, coordinating with other disciplines, and ensuring consistency across all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare multidisciplinary design deliverables in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and standards 
  • Coordinate layouts and interfaces between electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, and process disciplines
  • Support constructability, safety, and maintainability through design
  • Ensure drawing quality, consistency, and adherence to project CAD/BIM standards
  • Participate in design reviews, model reviews, and coordination meetings

Specific discipline requirements

Electrical Design

  • Develop layouts for LV/MV systems, including:
  • Power distribution
  • MCCs, switchgear, transformers
  • Cable routing and containment (trays, ladders, conduits)
  • Earthing and lightning protection systems
  • Prepare single-line diagrams, load layouts, and equipment arrangement drawings
  • Coordinate electrical room layouts and access/clearance requirements

Mechanical Design

  • Prepare layouts for mechanical equipment such as:
  • Pumps, motors, compressors, valves
  • Skids, pipework, supports, and access platforms
  • Develop general arrangement (GA) drawings and mechanical layouts
  • Coordinate mechanical interfaces with electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Incorporate installation, maintenance, and lifting requirements into designs

Instrumentation & Control Design

  • Develop instrumentation layouts, including:
  • Field instruments, panels, and junction boxes
  • Instrument tubing and impulse lines
  • Analyzer shelters and instrument air systems
  • Prepare cable and tubing routing layouts
  • Assist with I/O layouts, control panel arrangements, and interface diagrams
  • Coordinate with control systems engineers for PLC/SCADA-related layouts

Coordination & Documentation

  • Ensure clash-free and coordinated designs across all EMI&C discipline
  • Support preparation of:
  • Layout drawings
  • Section details
  • Typical installation details
  • Incorporate comments from engineering reviews, HAZOPs, and constructability reviews
  • Assist in preparation of as-built drawings

Working Hours: Six days per week (Friday off), with compensation aligned to workload and responsibilities.

What you bring

 Location Requirement:

You must be currently based in Jordan or the surrounding Dead Sea region.
Due to project requirements, candidates must be available to work on-site and align with the local working schedule and time zone.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation Engineering, or related technical discipline, Master degree is preferred

• Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial or infrastructure projects

• Proven experience working on multidisciplinary EMI&C designs

• Experience in EPC or consultant environments is an advantage

• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks

• Excellent skills with MS Office suite

• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary and cultural teams

• Professionally skilled in english

• Familiarity with international standards (e.g., BS, DIN, ASTM, IEEE, IEC, API, ISO)
